Μετά από την επίσκεψη μου στην Φάρμα Κοκκιαδης μπορώ να πω ότι έχω μείνει πάρα πολύ ευχαριστημένος τόσο από την εξαιρετική ποιότητα του μελιού και των άλλων προϊόντων του μελιού όσο και από τα πεντανόστιμα γλυκά κουταλιού. Η εξυπηρέτηση ήταν άριστη και  προτεινω ανεπιφύλακτα την επίσκεψη σε όποιον θέλει να δει από κοντά τι σημαινει ποιοτικό προϊόν.

Hospitality Personified

My family and I visited this honey farm while on a multi-city European tour, we found this place on Google while searching up honey farms around us because we were interested in learning more about how honey was made.

Our downloaded map didn’t quite get us to the exact location but with the help of an adorably helpful elderly couple (I say this because they didn’t speak English but were able, with just the mention of the name of the farm, to provide hand-gestured directions), we were able to find the farm.

We were greeted by our hostess, Maria, who offered us some homemade lemonade (providing some much needed cooling since the day was quite hot); and then off we went (in our complimentary beekeeper’s outfit) to see the bees. Unfortunately, we were unable to see honey being harvested because that would be done in August but once we returned indoors, Maria and her brother taught us so many things about bees, things that I had never heard in all my days of watching documentaries, things that convinced me that bees are the key to the survival of the human race.

After the ‘lesson’, we had a chance to taste quite a few of their natural products on offer, such as: honey, jams, sweet spoons etc and we made sure to buy as many things as our baggage allowance allowed.

While our items were being packaged, we were treated to their mum’s feta stuffed pie and fresh cherry juice; forget “southern hospitality”, my new term is “Cretian hospitality” 😀.
